Back in 1997 the Angel Ranch breeding program was just beginning. Mr Rebel Bonanza (Beau as we called him) was purchased from the Arapahoe Ranch based in Thermopolis Wyoming. It was Memorial Day weekend when he was purchased, Beau was 5 years old at the time and had never been haltered, but Terry got him broke to ride and took him elk hunting in October of that year! He was an amazing horse! His confirmation was magnificent and we knew this would be a starting point for our breeding program. As we review his parentage, his great grandfather “Beau Bonanza” was an AQHA world Champion Halter horse. His father “Coys Bonanza “speaks for himself with Halter Championships and for starting in the racing arena, check him out in the Legends books! Needless to Beau has given us some of the most conformationally correct, good natured, strong brood mares around. We lost Beau in 2009, he was out to pasture and we found him deceased, struck by lightning. His last 2 foals were born in the spring of 2010.
A Cruzan for Cash is a 2004 Sorrel Stallion, standing at Stud at the Angel Quarter Horse Ranch in Riverton, WY. Due to a severe injury to his left hind leg, he was never able to go into the Show arena and is being used for Breeding purposes only. His Pedigree says it all as to what his foals are capable of! His Grandparents on both the Sire and Dam sides are world champions and have been instilled into the NRCHA Hall of fame. With earnings into the millions. His Grandmother “Diamonds Sparkle” on the dam side is highlighted in the Western Horsemans “Legends” book volume 4, section 5. His Mother “ Sparkles Suzana” was the 1992 AQHA Senior Calf Roping world Champion. “Cruzan” is still very athletic as are all of his foals! They all have great dispositions and are very fancy. You can tell his foals as they all seem to carry the two left side stockings just as he does. His foals will be able to go in any direction, from Reining to Roping or just the show arena.
Texas trainer and reining great Craig Johnson slides to a stop aboard Sparkles Suzana. This 1985 daughter of Zan Parr and Diamonds Sparkle won the 1989 NRHA Derby, then returned to the show arena in 1992 to earn the senior calf roping world championship.
